My little adventures to wherever life takes me.

Deciding just to wing it…

In trying to make my travel plans to Mexico, I hit a roadblock.  I just couldn’t commit to anything other than a couple of nights in Tulum at a little downtown establishment.  And even then, I just sent a $30 deposit on PayPal, so if I blow that off, it’s no big deal.  Since it’s been a year-and-a-half since I’ve been to Mexico, I searched and searched for places I might want to stay but couldn’t make a commitment.  I’m afraid to submit deposits and payments without really being sure of what I’m doing.  I don’t want to get there and then discover that I don’t want to stay at a place that I’ve already paid for…and then feeling like I’ve wasted my time there.  On that note, I’ve decided to stop trying to plan my trip.  People have told me that the fun of a vacation is in its planning.  Well, this is one vacation in which the fun is in NOT planning.  The one safe thing I have going for me is that it’s low season and I’m not worried about getting a room somewhere…I know I’ll be able to find something.  And that’s what’s kind of exciting about this trip.  No plans…no commitments…no worries.  (Kind of like “No shirt…no shoes…no problem”…haha!)  Just a gal who wants to get away for a little adventure without restrictions.  That would be me.  I guess we’ll see.

  1. I look forward to hearing all about it! Our next trip to that area, we want to spend at least a week touring around the Yucatan. We need to mix it up and see new places! We planned on doing just that last November/December, but then I broke the stupid tooth and the focus shifted to dental appointments in Cancun. Ugh!
